Taiwo Francis Akerele is the MD of PolicyHouse Limited a Canadian and Nigerian registered policy development and social economic research group.
Between 2011 and 2016 Mr Akerele successfully managed a world bank funded project with a combined portfolio of USD$42m over a five year period and the development policy operation (DPO) Totally $150m for Edo state Nigeria. The project was successful in achieving budget and tax reforms, public works, integrated financial management system and Education Management information systems for the state.
In 2016 he was appointed the chief of staff Edo state until he resigned in April 2020 to form the Incentive Based Initiative (IBI) to advocate for the return of kids out of school especially in Nigeria north east using the incentive framework leveraging on local dynamics.
A development economist, Mr Akerele had previously worked at the UBA, FCMB, Afribank and the Lagos Business school, Center for Applied Economics.
A graduate of over 20 years. He got his degree from the University of Benin in 1999, Masters from the University of Ibadan in 2008, he has additional training from Harvard Kennedy school, Carlton University Canada and Stellenbosch University, Cape Town.

Mr Akerele is a consistent advocate of aid effectiveness, lean but effective borrowing for African countries.
His previous articles published and unpublished dwells on fiscal federalism, taxation. He is the author of Sage of Growth; the reflections of a policy economist. Mr Akerele is married.
