The TFA debate to Action (DTA) series volume 1
Good morning ladies and gentlemen, my name is Taiwo F. Akerele from Akoko Edo local government area of Edo state. I was the immediate past chief of staff to the governor that resigned on the 24th of April 2020 based on my personal principles. Before then I had consulted for the world bank and the EU on public financial management, budget reforms and public works.
Since I left government I have taken time to reflect on the developmental challenges confronting Nigeria and how some self styled leaders have taken our people for a ride for many years.
In this context I will be challenging some of our self styled leaders to a performance debate ahead of the Edo elections in September. This debates will hold at the Pope Francis arena at Igarra and you can logon via zoom or you register to attend as the COVID-19 won’t allow too many individuals to be present at the venue physically.
The debate will look at the role of individuals in attracting development to the rural areas.
How elected officials can create change and transform the society within a generation.
How to translate opportunity in authority to Impact on human development.
How elected leaders who have no positive records or failed in the past should not deceive the electorates into voting for their own personal choices based on greed and without cogent factor.
How the youths can chart their course leveraging on technology, data management and factor endowments.
We will be using this forum to say enough is enough to those who earlier told us government cannot deliver when in actual fact they were the obstacles to development
We shall be using this platform to say we are not zombies and cannot
be misled into jumping from fry pan to fire every four years.
Join me as we take our destiny into our hands building on the successes of the past and capitalizing on the potentials of the future.
We can say enough to ourselves!
Join the TFA debate to action platform to today!
Don’t be afraid to speak don’t be afraid to vote!
